Company History

In 1922, James West borrowed on his insurance policy to buy a plumbing truck and open a small plumbing store. During the heart of the depression, in 1930, he purchased a building in Los Angeles on the corner of 76th and Vermont where he displayed plumbing fixtures and appliances. The business continued to grow through the depression and the World War II era. In 1955, James West sold his company to his son, Jim, who expanded the company by purchasing a second store in Lomita, California. The company thrived throughout depressions, recessions, and civil unrest. Under Jim’s management, Jimmie West’s bright orange trucks became a recognizable symbol of stability and reliability in the plumbing industry.

1983 brought another change when Jim sold the business to his son J. Michael. Michael has worked in the business since an early age; one might say "from the ground up" since he labored digging ditches during high school. With a college degree in business management, Michael was enthusiastic about returning home to work at Jimmie West Plumbing once again. He obtained his journeyman’s license and soon after, his contractor’s license.

With all of Michael’s experience in plumbing and managing a successful business, he decided in 2006 to start a new Plumbing/Drain Cleaning Company, Rooter Hero Plumbing. He knew that with all his experience and expertise he would be able to offer Orange County unbeatable services at unbeatable prices.
